Where is the Celestial Cinema?
The Celestial Cinema at Wailea is located at the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course, one mile past the Fairmont Kea Lani Hotel on the road to Makena Beach. The Celestial Cinema at Wailea is located above the Pro Shop on the amphitheater-like slopes of the golf-course training facility. PLEASE NOTE: There will be no festival parking at the SeaWatch Restaurant parking lot. Where is the Maui Digital Skydome & SandDance Theater?
The Maui Digital SkyDome is located on the Pacific Terrace of the Wailea Marriott Resort. Parking for the SkyDome is available at the Wailea Marriott. The SandDance Theater is located on Wailea Beach below the Four Seasons Resort at Wailea. Parking for the SandDance Theater is available at the public Wailea Beach parking area between the Grand Wailea Resort and the Four Seasons Resort. View Maps

Where do we park? Is there shuttle service?
There will be no festival parking at the SeaWatch Restaurant parking lot. All parking for the Celestial Cinema at Wailea, Taste of Wailea, and the Fathers Day Concert will be at the top of Wailea Ike Drive, in the Wailea Resort special-event parking area. View Parking Map

A free shuttle, courtesy of Roberts Hawaii, will take festival attendees to and from the venues. Celestial Cinema shuttles run continuously starting at 6 pm, Taste of Wailea shuttles begin at 4:15pm, and the Fathers Day Concert shuttles begin at 4:30 pm. All shuttles return to the special-event parking area at the end of each special event and film premiere.

Parking for all OTHER festival events and films, other than those noted above is as follows:

Maui Digital SkyDome
• Location: the Pacific Terrace in the Wailea Marriott Resort.
• Parking: Park at the resort or the adjacent Shops at Wailea.

SandDance Theater
• Location: Wailea Beach below the Four Seasons Resort at Wailea.
• Parking: Wailea Beach Public Parking lot.

Castle and McCoy Theaters
• Location: Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) in Kahului.
• Parking: Available at the MACC.

Where do we park for special events?
• Opening Night Twilight Reception: Fairmont Kea Lani. An express shuttle will run to the Celestial Cinema from 6:30pm until 7:30pm.
• Big Bang Opening Night Party: Mulligan’s on the Blue.
• Thursday Night Tributes: Wailea Marriott Resort. An express shuttle will run to the Celestial Cinema at the conclusion of the tributes.
• Taste of Chocolate: Four Seasons Resort.
• Friday Night Tributes: Wailea Marriott Resort. An express shuttle will run to the Celestial Cinema at the conclusion of the tributes.
• Starry Night MoonDance: The Shops at Wailea.
• Taste of Wailea: Wailea Special Events Parking lot. Please note: there is NO parking at the SeaWatch Restaurant or the event location.
• Saturday Night Tributes: Wailea Marriott Resort. An express shuttle will run to the Celestial Cinema at the conclusion of the tributes.
• Sand Sculpture Contest: Wailea Beach Public Parking lot.
• Fathers Day Concert: Wailea Special Events Parking lot. Please note: there is NO parking at the Diamond Resort. An express shuttle will run to the Celestial Cinema and Special Events Parking from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
• Starz Cosmic Closing Night Audience Awards Party: Bamboo Chi Restaurant

PLEASE NOTE: Shuttles will run from the Celestial Cinema to all 10 pm special events at the conclusion of the Celestial Cinema 8 pm Feature Film.

A Maui Film Festival Resort shuttle, available to Wailea Resort guests, runs from hotel to hotel, to the Celestial Cinema at Wailea, Maui Digital Skydome, Opening Night Twilight Reception, Big Bang Opening Night Party, Thursday Night Tributes, Taste of Chocolate, Friday Night Tributes, Starry Night MoonDance, Taste of Wailea, Saturday Night Tributes, Father’s Day Concert, and the Starz! Cosmic Audience Awards Dance Party.

How is seating arranged?
Low-backed beach chairs are available for rental or purchase at the Celestial Cinema at Wailea. If you prefer, you can bring your own beach chair (low-backed), blanket, or mat. But please note: The Wailea Golf Company asks you avoid chairs with pointed legs that might sink into the turf. Please be courteous to others when selecting your spot and PLEASE use only the space you ABSOLUTELY need to make room for other festival attendees. Most of all, enjoy the show. FYI: Bringing a sweater or light jacket will guarantee your comfort for the evening.

Is there Food and Beverage at the Celestial Cinema?
Yes, some of Maui’s most popular restaurants including Maui Tacos, Vasi’s Gourmet Catering, Café O’Lei, and Who Cut the Cheese will be offering a nice selection of food and non-alcoholic beverages. Kettle Korn and assorted snacks will be available nightly. Starbucks Coffee will also be providing complimentary frappuccinos to our festival attendees, on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Maui Film Festival is proud to offer recycling bins to place your cans, cardboard, plastic & glass containers in.

Can I Bring My Own Food?
No. No coolers, bottles, or outside food and beverages are allowed. This will be strictly enforced.

What is the Attire for Events and Movies?
Attire for all events is “Resort Wear”, even for the Taste of Wailea, our signature event.

What Films and Events are good for Children?
Most Film Festival films are unrated, so you will have to be the judge of what you want your children to see. However, our reviewing committee feels that the following films are appropriate for children: The Perfect Man, Howl’s Moving Castle, All Aboard the Crazy Train, Between Earth and Sky, Champions on Wheels, March of the Penguins, Ocean Odyssey, RIZE, Deep Blue, and Mad Hot Ballroom.

Children can also participate in our Sand Sculpture Contest.

*Due to liquor laws, the only events children can attend is the Fathers Day Concert, and the Sand Sculpture Contest. No one under 21 years of age will be admitted to the following festival events: Opening Night TwiLight Reception, Big Bang Opening Night Party, Thursday Night Tributes, Taste of Chocolate, Friday Night Tributes, Starry Night MoonDance, Taste of Wailea, Saturday Night Tributes, and the Starz! Cosmic Audience Awards Dance Party.


If I ordered tickets over the phone or web, where do I pick up my tickets?

For TICKET pick up:
All of the tickets that you ordered will be available for pick-up at the event Will Call of the FIRST event/movie that you are attending. There is no prior pick-up location for tickets.


For PASS pick up:

SHOOTING STAR & RISING STAR PASSES:

• If you want to pick up your pass early, they will be at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center Box Office (10-6 pm, Mon. - Sat.) from June 10th to June 15th.
• After 4:30 pm on Wednesday, June 15th, your pass will no longer be at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. It will move to the Celestial Cinema in Wailea Will Call, in the lobby of the Sea Watch Restaurant at the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course, which opens at 6 pm.

COMET & GALAXY PASSES:

• Passes will be available for pickup beginning at 4:30 pm the Will Call at the Opening Night Twilight Reception at the Fairmont Kea Lani on Wednesday, June 15th.
• If you do not attend the Opening Night Reception, your passes will move to the Celestial Cinema Will Call, located in the lobby of the Sea Watch Restaurant at the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course, which opens at 6 pm.
• If you want to pick up your passes early, they will be at the Maui Film Festival Ticket Kiosk at the Shops at Wailea (ground floor by the escalators) between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm after June 10th.


Please note:
No tents, coolers, bottles, beverages, video or recording devices, cameras, outside food or beverages is allowed. No smoking permitted at any festival venues and special events. Handicapped parking and access available. All events take place rain or shine. Lost, stolen or destroyed tickets and festival passes will not be replaced. No exchanges or refunds. Admittance to all festival parties, where liquor is served, is limited to those 21 years of age and older only.
